On the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, October 14, 2023, the Association of Serbian Sisters ‘Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos’ of the Republic of Ireland solemnly celebrated its patron feast for the third year in a row.
The celebration of the feast began with a solemn Divine Liturgy served by Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Mladen Gardović, parish priest and rector of the Church in Dublin.
After the Divine Liturgy, Father Mladen blessed the slava symbols and thanked all the members of the Association, led by their president, Mrs. Biljana Torbica Kostin, for their selfless dedication and assistance to the Church community of Saint George and the parish.
A large number of faithful and admirers of the sisters’ work and efforts gathered that Saturday morning for the Divine Liturgy, after which a reception was arranged by the diligent and generous hostesses of our parish. The slava bread and wheat, prepared with love in honour of the Most Holy Theotokos, were made by the vice president of the Association of Serbian Sisters, Sister Ljilja Pejić.
To the pride of their homeland and of the Serbian people in Ireland, the Serbian Sisters’ Association ‘Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos,’ though one of the youngest associations, is very active. Almost every month, it organizes activities aimed at the well-being of our Church, the Church community, the parish, and the entire Serbian community.
